The SPORTIS event saw a great success with well attended audiences from both sports and technology sector from across the country and abroad. The chief guests for the event, Mr. Ion de la Riva, Ambassador of Spain to India and Mr. M.N Reddi, Commissioner for Youth Services and Sports, Government of Karnataka appreciated this programme and extended full support to this initiative. Mr. Erik Rovina, trade commissioner for Spanish Embassy in Mumbai rendered an inspiring presentation on Technology for life showcasing various ‘best in class’ technologies in Spain. This event was co-funded by ICEX, foreign trade institute of Spain.

The day was packed with highly informative and interactive sessions. The speakers for the day were a compilation of eminent personalities from different kinds of sports organizations like sports management organizations, sports technology organizations, sports personnel per se, sports promotion and research institutes etc.

Furthermore, the “Indiasportech” platform was launched in this event. This platform will bring together organizations from both sports and technology industry to discuss and deploy technology for the betterment of sports in India. This will also help in creating an international knowledge exchange network and consequently innovation and technology development in the sports sector in the country.
