Who we are
The present FIS started as an
informal network of Indo-Spanish organisations
working on projects in 1999.
This collaboration and
networking resulted into exemplary success for
both Indo-Spanish partners. To address the need
for a platform that could meet the requirement
for other organisations- governmental and
non-governmental, universities, researchers,
FORUM FOR INDIAN STUDIES was established.
Finally, in January 2007, a
group of organizations from various governmental
and non governmental organizations, primarily
Spanish and Indian, decided to join their
efforts and share their experiences by
formalising their commitment to work together.
This initiative resulted in the creation of the
Forum for Indian Studies. This Forum is based on
a signed agreement which aims to provide
European governmental, non governmental
organisations, universities, researchers and
individuals with an opportunity to understand
and learn about the past, current and future
economic, social and cultural aspects regarding
business opportunities in India.
To promote,
develop and share research and know-how between
Indo-European partners, by commissioning
studies, conducting and providing customized
research, gathering intelligence, etc primarily
in the field of but not limited to Business,
Education, Technology, Social Innovation and
